Stonehenge 2020 - The Way Forward. (Published on-line, here, June 2020)

This PDF file contains the full text of the results of a number of years of research into the design, construction and purpose of Stonehenge,  There are a number of newly described features and interpretations.  (Newly described in so far as they have never been pointed out or commented upon before within the vast quantity of literature already in existence concerning Stonehenge.)  A number of these new features are easily seen when visiting the monument and are worth looking out for.

Update For Star Identities,Locations and Other Data (08-2021)

Updated data relating to the 'Little Stars' of the Regulus Group that are the subject of the face of the Heelstone at Stonehenge.  The original of the accompanying plan can be found within the text of 'Stonehenge 2020 - The Way Forward' at pps 155,156, et al. (See this web-site, and the pdf version above.)

My main written text, (above), and various other places within my web-sites and other texts, contain many references to a small group of stars within the 'Regulus Group' that rose with the sun at mid-summer solstice c. B.C. 2340.  Previously these stars have all been identified by original 'Hubble' numbers from the star catalogue with which I referenced their identities for several years.  It is now appropriate to update these stars' refence numbers, position data and other data to a more recent catalogue.

The reference numbers and position data now given are from the U.S. Naval Observatory catalogue.  A main objective of this exercise and of the Heelstone group at Stonehenge is to 'frame' the local area of a certain part of the Cosmic sky within the Regulus Group.  All of these stars formed a very small area of sky that was indicated at the moment of sunrise at the Heelstone, Stonehenge c. B.C. 2340.  All of this group were very close to declination 23* 4' at that instant and aligned with the Heelstone Slit and its features, as I have described.  The two sky maps shown, following. are for B.C. 2340, and our modern epoch at J2000.

Two star maps of the 'Little Stars' are shown, following.  Map (a) is from the map in the full text of 'Stonehenge 2020 - The Way Forward', c. pps. 155 - 156 et al, and shows the sky as it was at the time of the completion of the build of Stonehenge and its presumed inauguration c. B.C. 2340.

Map (b) is the same sky with the same stars but with the information updated to our modern epoch, J2000.
